It’s been a long, cold winter – but it’s finally coming to an end. With spring just around the corner, it’s time to start thinking about Easter. If you want to enjoy a break over the holidays, then coming to one of our holiday cottages in Bridlington is a great choice, with plenty to keep the whole family busy.
Easter egg trail at Burton Agnes Hall
Kids who are young enough to still get excited by the magic of Easter will have a great time in Bridlington. The bank holiday weekend will see an Easter egg trail set up in the local manor house, Burton Agnes Hall, complete with puzzles to solve and games to play. With free entry for under-4s, this is a great way to celebrate the arrival of spring.
Sewerby Hall’s Easter programme
Meanwhile, nearby Sewerby Hall has its own programme of family Easter events, including Easter Bonnet making sessions, Easter Bunny balloon modelling, face painting and an Easter egg hunt. Mum and Dad will also enjoy the chance to visit the gorgeous grounds, complete with rose garden and small zoo.
The Bridlington 5 mile dash
Sporty visitors who arrive in time for Good Friday – the 30th of March – can participate in the Bridlington 5 Mile Dash. This is the 7th edition of this popular local race. While serious runners are welcome, there’s something for everyone: a shorter children’s course is open for the kids, and a fun run for adults is also available. There’s always a great atmosphere around the 5 Mile Dash – expect to see plenty of friendly faces lining the course, cheering the runners on.
For those who don’t care for organised events and would rather just relax, there’s always plenty to do in this charming corner of East Yorkshire. Bridlington Holiday Cottages are based in a quiet holiday park, two miles from the beach. While it’s not warm enough to go for a dip just yet, the laid-back atmosphere is ideal for those who want to chill out and get away from the city life for a few days. Go for a walk along the beach, or just enjoy a drink or a meal in one of the friendly local pubs or cafes. Contemporary but cosy, our cottages offer everything you’ll need for a relaxing Easter getaway.
