Planning and then enjoying a relaxing, fun-filled holiday can be slightly tricky when you have young children. The good news is that there are many fantastic holiday destinations here in the UK for you to enjoy, with Bridlington and East Yorkshire having so much to offer you and your children. Below we share why Bridlington holidays are the perfect choice when you have little ones.
The beauty of Bridlington beach
Bridlington beach is child friendly and gives your little ones the perfect opportunity to paddle in the sea and build sandcastles. Local facilities include toilets, beach huts, first aid, and deck chair rentals. There are also many local cafes and coffee shops to access along the length of the beach.
Bridlington Harbour Museum
This wonderful museum is free for all and is very much hands on. Run by local volunteers, you can learn about the maritime history of the area, tie nautical knots, and see and touch many sea based artefacts. It’s perfect for little curious minds, and you can visit the beach afterwards.
Treasure Island Mini Golf and Ghost Walk
Suitable for children as young as four, this mini golf course also incorporates a fun ghost walk. Children can have fun playing golf in replica caves and finding their way through spooky twists and turns. There is also a Jack Sparrow replica. It is located alongside the Bridlington Esplanade where there are many other local attractions. Entry is £1 for the under 2s and £2.50 for ages 2 to 12 years.
Sewerby Hall and Gardens
This country house is situated within 50 acres of picturesque parkland that kids will love. Here you can have a guided tour of the house, enjoy the large playground, cafe, woodland walks and wander around the zoo. Suitable to visit at any time of the year, it is located close to the nearby Seafront Train station, that will take you straight to the promenade.
