In Northern England, we’re used to the unpredictable weather and a bit of rain never hurt anyone, but it can sometimes put a stopper on days out when you’re trying to enjoy yourself whilst keeping the kids entertained. But you needn’t worry! There are a variety of fun days out in Bridlington that you can pop open your rainy-day fund for when the heavens open!
Historical days out
Let your imagination run wild in some of the most breathtaking, historical buildings that Yorkshire has to offer. Boasting grand manors, walled gardens, extensive art collections and historical artefacts, attractions such as Burton Agnes Hall, Sewerby Hall and Gardens and Bridlington Priory offer a magical day out in the surrounding area.
Just for the kiddies
Candy Kingdom and Beach Cove at Hornsea Freeport are both just a hop, skip and a jump away from the heart of Bridlington. Sit back with a book and let the kids run wild (and hopefully wear themselves out so you can have a nice evening to yourself) in a sea of slides, ball pits and soft play! Just north of Bridlington, in Scarborough, you’ll also find the Scarborough Fair Collection, full of nostalgic, traditional, fully restored fairground rides to twirl you to your heart’s content.
Sit back and let us entertain you!
Bridlington Spa sits overlooking the sandy beach of the town and boasts a large royal hall, an art-deco ballroom and a large theatre where you can expect to see a variety of West End shows and other performances. This year will see Fame the Musical, Madagascar – A Musical Adventure and the fantastic Blood Brothers hit the stage so book your tickets early!
On your doorstep
There are plenty of rainy day out destinations on your Bridlington holiday that don’t require any travel out of the town. How about testing your swashbuckling skills at Treasure Island Mini Golf? Perhaps get in touch with your creative side at Pot a Doodle Do? Whatever you choose to do, there’s always something nearby that’s fun for all the family!
Brave it anyway!
A little rain never dampened our spirits! Don your raincoats and your wellies, Bridlington’s outstanding natural beauty and fabulous beaches promise to impress come rain or shine!
